I have a new best friend!

H&M! I had never been in one but have heard great things about that place from people who shop there regularly. I have been blessed to finally have one built in our local mall. I went in there for the first time in December before I started on my weight loss journey.
Unfortunately, they size in European, which means no jeans/pants for me. However, I was able to get a few super cute clearance shirts, only spending $30 for 4 shirts and a dress.
I decided to go back today, and I am happy to report that I can now fit into their weirdo sizes!  I picked up a pair of olive jeans and a new coat that was 50%.
I am now one step closer to unfrumping myself and am spending less and less days in my fat pants and sweats.

Finding myself 100 times

Ever since having Olivia I have been in a slump. I don't know if it's the weather around here that gets me down or what. I'm not always depressed though, it seems to come in cycles. Cycles I can't quite explain. Maybe it's cabin fever of being stuck inside with a demanding toddler for days on end, or maybe it's that I've become a fat ass or that I never have time to even take a shit when I need to.
Anyways, I'm taking myself back. I joined Weight Watchers a year ago. I lost 20lbs (yay, me). I went off Weight watchers in March 2010 and managed to keep most the weight off. I did gain about 5 back during the holiday season. January rolled around and I joined again, this time doing it online with the husband. Yes, we are both fat asses. At this point I am in my 7th week and 10 pounds down. I also recently started seeing a trainer to tone up my post baby flab.
I also took another leap of faith yesterday. I chopped my hair. I've have always thought women with pixie cuts are freaking HOT.  But I feared I was too "fat" for that cut. I went with it. and here are the results.(Please ignore the no make up, frumpiness. I also plan to starting dressing nicer *accepting applications for a stylist*)

I also plan on doing a post of my body now, and a after photo of when I am done working with my trainer.

an almost catastrophe

As you can see my daughter has a best friend. Minnie Mouse, or as I like to call her "Pirate Hooker Minnie Mouse", only because she has a shit load of make up on and wore stilettos until we cut them off. I have tried to replace Minnie with normal looking ones, but she is attached. Olivia would probably bathe with her if we allowed it.Well we almost lost Minnie...for about an hour my daughter refused to go to bed, yelling "where Minnie?" We looked every where....I was even freaking out. We finally found her being the entertainment center. She was so happy. Now, where the heck am I going to find a replacement of "Pirate Hooker Minnie" when her looks go south?
Please excuse the blurry pictures, she was moving a lot.

A day at the beach

It was a bright sunny day is Washington, so I should have known that anywhere we went would be packed. We had every intention of spending the afternoon at the zoo. However, when we got there is was packed and we couldn't find parking. On our way home my 22 month old (23 months on the 28th) pipes up and says" MaMa want to see toot toot", which is her way of asking to go see the trains at the beach.
Here are some picks of us enjoying our day.

Here is Olivia waving "bye-bye, toot toot"

And an Happy early Birthday to Olivia, Pika (which is what she calls her Grandma's) Violeta bought her a swingset for her birthday.

A little trip down South

No, I didn't go to the real south. I went 3 hours south of me to Portland. I'd only been once before and never really got to do any exploring except for the zoo. My friend Heidi and I left our kids and husbands behind and went on a little adventure.
We arrived Friday afternoon and immediatley headed to an Outlet mall with the intention of buying rain coats because we both forgot ours and it was pouring out. Of course we got there and never bought the jackets, but I did but Saphire some van's at the van's outlet store, Olivia some birthday toys at the outlet Toy's R us and some clothes at the outlet Gymboree. I walked away spending less than a $100 bucks on a boat load of stuff. I love Oregon's no sales tax!
We then checked into our wonderful hotel and embarked on an adventure to find food( in the rain). After searching up and down we found a little asian fusion resturant that was wonderful. The drinks where a little stiff so we ended up stumbling out of there like a couple of lushes :)
After that we ended up at the venue for the concert we had planned the whole trip for, Michael Franti. I'd never seen him before but all I can say in W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L. The only thing that bugged me was the parents who had their little kids about Olivia's age there. Dumb.
The next morning we ventured to Voodoo donuts who has the world famous maple bar with bacon on it.We waitied an hour and a half in line...totally worth it!

What have we become

Today was a very hard day for me. I went to visit my Great Grandmother in her nursing home. She has Alzheimer disease and may not have much longer. As I looked around the room I became very sullen, almost on the verge or tears the whole time. We participated in the laughter group (basically a woman acting silly to keep their spirits up) and the whole time all I could do was think, " how many of these people are alone, how many of these people never have visitors, how many of these people will pass alone?" I can not imagine it. I am sad that as a nation we toss our elderly and weak into homes to fight out their final days alone.
I have always felt that God put me on earth to help others in some way. Recently telling my husband that Echo Technician may not be the right career choice for me, as I felt it would not fulfill me emotionally. I want to change the world. Yes, I know that is impossible, but I have always been a believer that one person can make a change...even if it is just to one person. I never imagined myself working with the elderly, but maybe I am stronger than I thought. Maybe this the answer to my prayer for career guidance.
